General condition and any additional information
This is a sad moment for me, as I don’t want to sell this boat. This boat has been great to me, and has been my project for the past 2 years. Unfortunately I am short on time with my job, and recently got a hernia. I will need to go through surgery and then the recovery from that surgery. Because of these factors I don’t believe I can contribute the time this boat deserves, and should go to someone who can bring her back to her former glory.
Here are the details of this project. I bought this boat with a non-functioning Perkins 4108. I then replaced the engine with a used Perkins 4018 from a local marine mechanic. The engine has been installed but I was. It able to get it fully running. The engine turns over fine, I just haven’t had enough time to get it running fully. As a result of being on a mooring ball, the tiller handle broke from the current. The bracket attaching the tiller handle to the boat needs to be fixed.
This boat sails really well. I spent several months sailing her through the San Diego bay.
If you’re serious about owning a truly historic sailboat, I can go over all the details over the phone.
