1981 Colvic countess 33 - Electric with Thunderstruck motor

$8,500

British-built, ocean-proven, and running on clean, quiet electric power. It’s basically a Tesla that floats — if a Tesla also came with four anchors, air conditioning, and a leaky hatch. Needs some TLC, priced so you can afford it and the rum.

I am currently living aboard in the Hammock Beach Marina, and the new owner can live on it as well. Its a hurricane protected marina with a full floating dock system.

Meet my 1981 Colvic Countess 33 — a stout British bluewater boat with a skeg-hung rudder, bilge keel, and a transatlantic under her belt. She’s got the kind of hull you trust in ugly seas, the kind of cockpit you feel safe in, and the kind of personality that says, “I’ll take you anywhere, if you take care of me.”

The Cool Stuff:

All-Electric Motor – Thunderstruck drive with four 100Ah Renogy batteries, powered by 800W of solar. Whisper-quiet motoring, no diesel stink.

Center Cockpit – comfy, safe, and perfect for pretending you’re captaining something twice as big.

Hull in Great Shape – confirmed by divers, not just me bragging.

Cruiser Gear – four anchors, brand new galvanized chain, and all new running rigging.

Creature Comforts – brand new 11 memory foam mattress in the forward berth, two AC units (because Florida).

Systems – new electrical panel, 30A shore power, Hydro Vane, and Honda outboard.

The Honest Bits:

Needs bottom paint and a haul-out.

Mast is currently unstepped at Oasis Boatyard in St. Augustine.

Standing rigging needs replacing to sail — to just step the mast, you’ll need one forestay and one shroud (Sta-Lok ends included).

Some interior work above the waterline (side panels, ceiling).

Forward hatch and windlass both have small leaks.

Forward wiring still needs to be done (I’ll even throw in the extra wire).

Why This is a Deal:
Colvic Countess 33s in good cruising condition can run $30k.
This one has the same legendary hull, but with a modern electric drive, a solar farm on top, and the big-ticket gear already aboard. Priced so you can finish the work without selling a kidney.

Improvements to the hull, deck, rigging, engine, or interior
